Hey everyone, Emily here!

As a makeup artist, I love to talk about products and answer all questions about makeup and products to the best I can! So, I thought today maybe I would hop on here and just give a small list of some of my favourite and must re-order products that can always be spotted in my shopping cart. It was hard to reign myself in because there were so many options, but I restrained myself and chose just five. I`ll tell you what they`re for, how to use them, what they cost, and where I find them!

1) Mac- Strobe Cream

UHHH how I love strobe cream! This product is the reason I put in Mac orders as often as I do. I have been hooked on this product for around 7 years, it`s a moisturizer with iridescent particles in it. Full of vitamins, green tea and with the iridescent particles it luminizes and boosts the look of dull skin. Mac has now upped the game and created them with a tint! Peach, red, pink (which was the original tint), silver, and my personal fave gold. The tint works great to neutralize our natural skin tone. This isn`t a moisturizer I would put on before bed because that`s a waste of good sparkle! This is the first step to my makeup routine every morning. I love the moisture and the shine it adds under my foundation. Or, in the summer if I`m feelin’ tan and fab and just wanna add a little glow, I`ll apply just strobe cream and mascara. It`s a higher price point but a little goes a long way and if you`re going to go with the original tint (pink) it`s a better bang for your buck to get two travel sized ones. This is my must try, always in my makeup bag, can`t skip product!

2) Bodyography- Cover and Correct Under Eye Concealer Duo

I am plagued with dark circles under my eyes, I think I could sleep for days and still have them. I`m just susceptible to darker colouring under my eyes now matter how rested I am. Therefore, I need a bulletproof concealer or I would purchase corrector sticks and

concealer to pair together to fight off the darkness. Then, I found this amazing two in one concealer from Bodyography, on the top it has a red correcting product and then on the bottom the actual skin coloured concealer. The reason for the red is because if we look to our colour wheel the opposite of blue (the colour of our dark circles) is red. Again, we are talking about using the colour wheel and opposite colours to neutralize and correct each other. Also, the red corrector has caffeine in it which actually helps to stimulate circulation under the eye diminishing dark circles. What doesn`t coffee improve seriously? First, I just use my finger to apply the red colour. Using your fingers is great because it warms the product up to body temperature making it easier to apply. I use my finger or beauty blender to apply the skin coloured concealer over top next. When picking a concealer, you always want to use a colour a little lighter then your foundation. This product comes in light, medium, and dark, I myself use light. I’ve had this product for a couple months and still have lots left. This is a great product for anyone and everyone!

3) Morphe- “Fall Into Frost” Eye Shadow Palette

This palette is so dreamy! My fave YouTube girl Jaclyn Hill uses Morphe products all the time so I thought I would check them out and wow, I was not disappointed! This gorgeous palette is full of beautiful metallic golds, browns, maroons and a row of neutral matte colours. The pigments in these shadows put all other eye shadows I’ve ever used straight to shame. They are so colourful yet to easy to blend! The price is reasonable, you order on the website in US dollars but even with the conversion the price is great. I’ve also heard you can pick up some of the products in the malls in Saskatoon at the As Seen on TV stores. Haven’t checked it out for myself yet, so not sure what they carry for palettes in them. With 30 different shadows in this palette and them being so pigmented you’ll get a good use out of this palette. I also love to use the first four colours for highlighting on my face, so glowy! Just from the one palette I’ve used from Morphe I would highly recommend their eye shadows in any palette.

4) Sara Happ- The Rose Gold Slip lip-gloss

Anyone else ever struggle when going out with the do I be practical and put on lip chap or do I put on a cute lip colour, well struggle no more ladies! Sara Happ has lipsticks that not only are adorable colours but also moisturizing. I fell madly deeply in love with the rose gold colour. I love rose gold so when I heard it I could get it in a lipstick I was so excited. It’s a golden nude blush colour with gorgeous shimmer. When I say it sparkles, I really mean it. It’s such a subtle soft colour but then the sparkles amp it up to create a perfect day or night look. It’s definitely a thicker consistency but it truly is moisturizing on the lips and a little is all you need. Bonus, you can get lip scrubs from Sara Happ as well if those lips need a good exfoliation before lip-gloss. Love the packaging on these lip glosses too, so pretty.

5) Lush- Cosmetic Lad

Alright, at the end of the day we have to wash all that makeup off and treat our face to some au naturel bareness and moisture. Even the best and most natural makeup products take a bit of a toll on our skin. Clogging pores, disrupting pH levels, and drying our skin. Which is why at the end of the day we have to make sure to wash and moisturize our face. I highly recommend the moisturizers from Lush. I use Cosmetic Lad but different skin types need different things from a moisturizer so make sure to check which one suits you best. If you go to lush.ca you can look through each moisturizer to see what they are good for. I love Cosmetic Lad because it has aloe vera, lavender honey water, and chamomile which are all soothing for irritation and redness. The almond oil and cocoa butter moisturize but also dry quickly. I put this on every night before bed and my skin still feels hydrated in the morning. However, it’s also a great choice pre-makeup routine. I like that it’s heavy enough to hydrate but light enough to let my skin breathe. It’s also a great option for men post shave (not that we want to share anything else with them). I use to work at Lush and I love all their products, it’s more then just strong smells and bath bombs. It’s hard to go wrong with any of their skin care products!
