Graduating from MC college in 2010. I spent my time in Saskatoon apprenticing and received my Journey persons in hairstyling in 2012. Raised on the farm in north east Saskatchewan and then spending my most recent years in Saskatoon, it’s a breath of fresh air to move to the beautiful area of Meota.
Hairstyling was a passion early on and after a few short weeks at MC college I knew this was something I could see myself making a career out of.
Working in two salons since school I have had the opportunity to work closely with different people and owners. Managing at both the salons has given me an understanding of running a business and managing people. I love working in a busy salon with so many talented artists, but am very excited to work in a smaller space where I can focus more with the client in my chair with little distraction.
My favorite thing about being a hairstylist is my clients. Being fortunate enough to have had a large clientele while working in Saskatoon and getting to know so many people from all walks of life I can truly say that my clients continually inspire me to work harder in all aspects of life. My clients often became like family making saying goodbye to them the most difficult part of leaving my career in Saskatoon. However, I am looking forward to this new adventure in North Battleford and can’t wait to meet a wonderful new clientele!
Education is something I continually take as it keeps me inspired and creative. I always walk away from a class at least learning one new thing and new inspirations. I have been blessed with many learning opportunities – in hair, I have received my Master Colorist Certificate with La Bioesthetique, taken salon business classes, many trend classes for men and women’s cuts and colours, traveled in Canada and the US for trends shows, and taken part in Saskatoon fashion festival.
